The Gold Coast has an abundance

Investment:
As an indicator .... a $2,377
land investment on the Gold Coast in 1955 is now worth $5.2 million,
with long term holdings in beachfront and beachside land providing
as high as 37% returns, according to a new report by International
property advisors, DTZ Research. (DTZR)
DTZR have examined land sales over
the last 50 years to show compounded returns averaging 16.9 per
cent per annum over 10-year investment periods for beachfront
land and 13 per cent since 1981 for beachside.
"As an example a 405sqm block
purchased at 117 Hedges Avenue in Mermaid Beach in 1953 for $800
was sold in January 2004 for $3.595 million;" said Mr. McCracken.
Prices have continued to rise with one Hedges Avenue property
selling for 18 million in 2004. |
